General Description
These breakout boards bring all 44 pins plus shield of a DB44HD (high density) connector out to screw terminal blocks for easy connection and prototyping work. These breakout boards are perfect for field wiring tasks and are available in two different connector hardware options: captive screws and jack screws. The captive screws accommodate direct mounting to a mating connector which contains jack screws, while the jack screw option is perfect for mounting to a wall box plate or thin panel that has a DB44HD cutout.
The small footprint means that the end profile of the breakout board is no larger than the connector itself. This can be important when accessing multiple connectors which are spaced closely together. The breakout board also includes provision for strain reliefs; holes drilled in the board provide anchor points where tie-wraps can be attached.
These break out boards are perfect for experimentation and prototype work,as well as for use in the educational laboratory. They are well-suited for interfacing with data acquisition equipment or any other devices that use a DB-44HD connector. A breakout board is sometimes referred to as a "transition module", "terminal board", or "interface module".
Connector Hardware Options
These breakout boards are available with either jack screws or captive screws for the connector hardware. The jack screws work well when mounting the breakout board to a wall box plate or thin panel that has a DB44HD cutout; the captive screws allow a firm connection between the breakout board and a connector that already has jack screws. Both options are pictured below:
